Conditions Treated by us as a Team
Many conditions are listed in the individual therapies as suitable for treatment and act as stand-alone therapies.  However, one of the really unique features of Equilibrium is the way we can all pull together to get the absolute best result for you on your healing journey. Below are some of the ways in which different therapists can contribute to the overall management of these common problems.

With your express permission, your therapist can involve other healthcare professionals in our team to help you get back on track.  You can select any single therapist to help or choose to see two or more people, assured that they are working together for you to achieve your goal.

The following conditions all lend themselves particularly well to the multi-disciplinary approach:

  • Chronic and Acute Pain Management

  • Stress Management

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Weight Management

  • Giving up Smoking

  • Sleeping Well

Tips for a Healthy Lifestyle

Creating a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to mean drastic changes.  In fact, drastic changes almost always lead to failure.  Making small changes in how you live each day can lead to a healthier lifestyle.

Here are some healthy lifestyle tips you can incorporate into your daily life:

Move regularly- Exercise on a daily basis, sit less, move more.

Eat a healthy diet– Increase your intake of natural foods, like fruits, vegetables and non-processed foods.

Sleep Well – Try and sleep 7 to 8 hours per day.  Lack of sleep can make you feel tired and affect your eating habits.

Drink plenty of water – Drink 8 – 10 glasses of water a day, avoid fizzy drinks, and drinks that de-hydrate the body, like coffee; reduce your intake of alcohol.

Think positive thoughts – People who are positive tend to have better health and success in life than those negative thinkers.

Invest in good relationships – Giving your partner a hug can not only warm your heart but protect it too; hugging your partner for 20 seconds could lower blood pressure and reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

See the funny side – Find something to laugh at each day.  Laughter releases endorphins, boosts your immune system, increases blood flow and relaxes your body.

Work-Home balance –There should be a balance between your work time and your leisure time. Be present and conscious while performing each role, there is no use having leisure time if you are constantly thinking about work.
