Counselling

Counselling is a form of talking therapy where you can discuss what is worrying you in a confidential and non-judgmental space. It is a collaborative process that allows you the opportunity to talk openly about things that you may be having difficulty with or feel uncomfortable talking to family or friends.

Life has it's ups and downs and that's normal and sometimes finding it hard to cope with them is normal too. Difficulties at home, work or socially can impact on our lives without you realising and talking to someone about them can help.

Counselling is proven to help with a wide range of psychological, emotional and behavioural problems that can occur, such as:
Stress and Anxiety * Depression * Relationship Problems * Bullying * Grief and Loss

Anger * Lack of Motivation * Bad Habits * Low Self-esteem and Confidence

Work related problems * Health and Wellbeing * Lack of creativity * and more...
The benefits are that you will feel less alone with your problem and have the support in figuring out what the problem is and how to find a solution. Freeing yourself from outdated ways of being and leaving you to live a more positive and healthy lifestyle. You will be working with someone who is trained to listen and understand what is happening to you from your perspective.

Some people may feel embarrassed about wanting counselling or worry about what others may think. If this is you, how about considering it in another way. It show's that you are aware that something isn't right in your life right now and that you have the courage to take control of your problem instead of the problem controlling you and that can only be viewed as a positive, healthy thing to do.

Counselling is not advice giving or telling you what you should or shouldn't do. Everyone experiences the world in a unique way; a solution for one person may not be right for another. Finding a way which works for you is the key to the counselling process, therefore the counsellor will tailor the therapy to fit to you instead of you fitting into the therapy.

For some people as little as one to six sessions can help to make a real difference. For others a longer term approach may be more appropriate. Professional therapy is about meeting the needs and objectives of the client and not those of the therapist.
