Helen first encountered chiropractic through her older brother’s experience. After seeing him spend three years being admitted to hospital with hip and leg pain several times a year he was taken to see a chiropractor as a last resort. After a short course of treatment he no longer suffered these exacerbations. Although it was some years before Helen began looking into the chiropractic profession, this experience was a strong influence in her long term choices.
From a young age Helen has always had an interest in horses and spent some time studying horses and as a riding instructor. During her teenage years she spent a considerable amount of time training and competing as a show jumper. It was during this time that she re-encountered chiropractic. After suffering with low back pain for some time due to a fall, she received chiropractic treatment. She had always had an interest in the health care professions and a driving urge to help people. It was at this point that she embarked on her path towards becoming a chiropractor. In her early twenties Helen decided to go back to school to study for her A’ levels and from there on to begin her four year chiropractic degree at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic. She has since graduated with honours. Helen is now a registered chiropractor with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), as well as a member of the British Chiropractic Council (BCC) and the College of Chiropractors Helen is continuing with her studies and strongly is passionate about learning more about her chosen profession.
